Guest Speaker: Dr. Brian Goldman on The Silver Tsunami: A Unique Perspective on Ageism in Health Care

Guest speaker Dr. Goldman is a prominent Emergency Department physician at Mount Sinai Hospital in Toronto. He is well known as CBC Radio One's "house doctor" and since 2007 has hosted the CBC radio program, White Coat, Black Art.

His presentation to over 120 people attending the AMGs examined how the health care system deals with aging patients (the Silver Tsunami); exploring the fine line between age appropriate care and ageism from the unique perspective of a practicing medical professional.

With an engaging delivery style, Dr. Goldman gave several examples of how this "silver" group is facing ageism and also how some physicians are dealing with the volume of patients and the time required to properly care for them.
