Auxiliary Opens Java Hut at Strathroy Hospital
Free coffee samples will be available at the Grand Opening of the Java Hut coffee kiosk at Strathroy Hospital on Thursday July 30, 2009 from 9:30-10:00 a.m.
The kiosk is a project of the SMGH Auxiliary and will be staffed by volunteers of all ages.
The SMGH Auxiliary raises money to support the hospital through operating the Gift Shop, an annual Tag Day in May, bake sales, selling HELPP tickets, raffles and many other fundraising activities. The new Java Hut will be an important part of the Auxiliary's future fundraising efforts as they recently made a $1 Million pledge to support the hospital, and are currently raising money to purchase a blood analyzer unit for the lab.
Funding to build the Java Hut was made possible through a generous donation from David and Linda Powell, a well-known local family with strong community ties.
Parking is free during the grand opening ceremony from 9:30-10:00am. Guests can enter SMGH through the front entrance to the lobby to the Java Hut coffee kiosk.
