The MHA participates in Movember ~ Month of the Mo

raising funds and awareness of prostate cancer

The Middlesex Hospital Alliance (MHA) is asking for your help to raise awareness and funds for men's health in celebration of the 'month of the Mo'.

Movember is the month formerly known as November, and a moustache growing charity event each year that raises funds and awareness for prostate cancer initiatives.

"This is a great opportunity to help increase awareness for men's health with screening and some prostate cancer procedures available right here at the Middlesex Hospital Alliance," says Mike Mazza, MHA CEO.

Andrew King, Safety Officer has created a team named 'Middlesex Hospital Alliance Mo's for Bros' with many MHA Staff joining to 'grow a Mo' in support of this initiative.

Each week during November, photos will be taken and posted on the MHA Insider and hospital web site of team participants to show the MHA Mo growth progress.

In addition to Andrew as Captain, the team includes Darrin Ackworth, RN; Roy Armas, Health Information Systems; Ryan Goehring, DI; Paul Long, CFO; Mike Mazza, CEO; Derek Resendes, Infrastructure Analyst; Ed Wheatley, Chief Development Officer of the SMGH Foundation; and Ryan Whitney, Environmental Services. Some community members have also joined the team including Aires Fernandes, Rob Forbes, Ed Hayden, and Dinis Soares.

So far $520 has been raised. All funds will be directed by Movember and Prostate Cancer Canada to support awareness, education and research.
