Middlesex Hospital Alliance Board of Directors

The Middlesex Hospital Alliance is governed by a single board of directors, since Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital and Four Counties Health Services formed an Alliance in September 1, 1999. Directors on the board are recruited from our community and serve no more than three, three year terms.

Ralph Coe - Mr. Coe brings over 25 years of public service in the resource management field and 20 years of volunteer Board experience at all levels of government. Ralph is employed by the St. Clair Region Conservation Authority as General Manager/ Secretary Treasurer and he is the Executive Director of their Foundation. Ralph also has extensive experience in strategic planning where he has overseen decision making, planning, policy and program development during his various appointments. He is past Chair of the Chamber of Commerce and Middlesex Community Living. He is also on the Management Committee for Conservation Ontario, and he also holds several other appointments. He is the recipient of the Governor General Canada Award, Canada 125 Medal. Ralph currently holds the position of Board Chair.

Ineke Haan - Ineke Haan is the Human Resource Manager at Bonduelle - Strathroy, a processor and distributor of quality frozen vegetables to the world market. Joining the Middlesex Hospital Alliance Board as a Director in 2004, in June 2008 she served as Board Chair for one year and continues on the Board as Past Chair. She brings to this role numerous years of corporate governance, policy, and strategic planning experience from her Board and Committee involvement on the Chamber, Credit Union, Commodity Organizations, Human Resource and Health & Safety Groups. Complementing her diversified background, Ineke holds a Certified Management Accountant designation. As a resident and businessperson of Strathroy for over 20 years, she values the hospital as the 'heart' of a vibrant community!

Yvonne Lambert - Mrs. Lambert brings knowledge of the health services sector as a result of the years she spent as a Registered Nurse at SMGH. She also has a background in small business as she and her husband were the owners of a flower shop in Strathroy. Yvonne has also been involved with the SMGH Foundation extensively. She has been on the Board since 2002, serving as Board Chair in 2007 and 2008 and currently is serving her final year of her term.

Judy McIntyre - Ms. McIntyre retired in 2003 after 37½ years with the Bank of Montreal where she was a Commercial Account Manager working with agriculture and corporate accounts. She has extensive experience with the agricultural and small business communities in West Elgin County (Bothwell / Thamesville area). Judy is the past chair of the FCHS Foundation. Judy grew up on a farm just outside of Glencoe and she continues to operate a cash crop farming operation in the Municipality of West Elgin (Wardsville-Rodney area) assisted by her son. Judy currently holds the position of Treasurer.

Brenda Meulendyks - Mrs. Meulendyks has been working in the financial services industry for almost 25 years. Extensive experience gained with a large trust company has led to her current career as a partner with Flagstone Financial Group in Strathroy, operating under the dealer supervision of Dundee Private Investors Inc. Brenda manages a professional financial planning practice utilizing her Certified Financial Planner and Chartered Life Underwriter designations. She develops strategies and product solutions for personal cash management, wealth accumulation, retirement, insurance and estate planning. She is a past president of the Strathroy and District Chamber of Commerce and was a member of their board of directors for 6 years. Brenda joined the MHA Board as a director in 2007.

Paul Ferner, MD, CCFP - Dr. Ferner started at Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital (SMGH) in 1989 and is currently the SMGH Chief of Staff. His areas of expertise include Oncology and Palliative Care. He is also the Medical Coordinator for the Southwest Region for the Ontario Breast Screening Program.

Jon Dreyer, MD - Dr. Dreyer started at Four Counties Health Services (FCHS) in 2002. He is currently Chief of Staff at Four Counties Health Services and former Head of Emergency Medicine at London Health Sciences Centre.

Dr. Robert Parnell, MD, CCFP - Dr. Parnell started at Four Counties Health Services (FCHS) in 1986. Dr. Parnell has an active family practice at the Newbury Medical Clinic and also provides emergency room coverage at the FCHS site.

Dr. Marc Raymond - Dr. Raymond joined the medical staff at the SMGH site in September 2005, providing Otolaryngology services (ear, nose, throat), to the patients in the catchment of the Middlesex Hospital Alliance. Dr. Raymond is the President of the Strathroy Medical Staff and joined the MHA Board of Directors in 2009.

Dr. Peter Kleinstiver - Dr. Kleinstiver is a Doctor of Philosophy (Pharmacology & Toxicology). Dr. Kleinstiver has many years of experience in healthcare and medical research. He is currently the President of Katalyst Professional Services Inc., a provider of health care consulting. Peter joined the MHA Board of Directors in 2008 and currently holds the position of Vice Chair.

Mr. Ken Williams - Mr. Williams is a Chartered Accountant and partner at Woods Pearson & Associates, LLP. Mr. Williams has extensive consulting experience both in Canada and the United States in business planning, corporate re-organization and restructuring and change management in both the public and private sectors. Mr. Williams joined the MHA Board of Directors in 2009.

Ms. Claudia Mior-Eckel - Ms. Mior-Eckel has been a HealthCare Consultant since 1986. She has extensive experience and expertise in rural health care delivery, community health centre models, strategic planning, benchmarking, continual improvement processes, etc. Ms. Mior-Eckel joined the MHA Board as a Director in 2009.

Mr. Drew Peddie - Mr. Peddie has been a Pharmacist since 1997, working in pharmacies across the Country since that time. Currently he is the owner/pharmacist at the Strathroy Shoppers Drug Mart. Mr. Peddie has been a member of several committees and boards throughout his career, joining the MHA Board as a Director in 2009.
