Paul Long named interim CEO for the Middlesex Hospital Alliance

Strathroy, ON- The Board of the Middlesex Hospital Alliance (MHA) has announced the appointment of Paul Long in the role of Interim CEO, effective September 29, 2012.  He replaces Michael Mazza who has retired after 35 years of service in the health care sector.

Paul Long is the Chief Financial Officer of the MHA; an Alliance of Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital and Four Counties Health Services in Newbury.  Mr. Long is a 27-year veteran with both of the hospitals and will retain his CFO responsibilities during the interim period.  He holds an honours Bachelor of Commerce Degree from the University of Ottawa, a Health Services Management Diploma complemented by professional designations from the Certified General Accountants Association and Canadian College of Health Leaders.  Paul Long was instrumental in introducing the LEAN Strategy across the Corporation.

Paul Long said: “The MHA is exceptionally well positioned strategically, with a talented team of employees, volunteers, physicians, managers and board of directors.  With a focus on providing excellence in quality, people, service and financial performance, the Alliance will continue to be successful in the future.”

The Board has initiated the search for a new CEO, and is pleased that Paul Long has agreed to assume the role of Interim CEO until a permanent CEO has been selected, to ensure a smooth transition to new leadership.
