TEMPORARY SUMMER STUDENT – Information Systems and Telecommunications Department – Ending August 28, 2014

Job Duties
Under the guidance and direction of the Service Manager the Summer Student will work with the IST department:
• Wiping hard drives, refurbishing equipment & inventory hardware
• Answering helpdesk calls,
• Updating and creating new procedure documents using best practices.
• Cataloging of software
• Installing and changing phones
• Assisting IT staff with implementing of projects
• The successful candidate will train hospital staff in the use of our information systems, including Microsoft Office 2007
• Other IST duties as assigned
• Position is available immediately
Job Qualifications
• Currently enrolled in a College or University level IT focused program
• Experience with Windows XP, Windows 7
• Experience with computers in a networked environment an asset
• Experience in training individuals and small groups an asset
• Demonstrated flexibility and creativity in dealing with a variety of skill levels an asset
• Demonstrated excellence in attendance
• Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work in a team or independently
• Excellent research, problem-solving and organizational skills
• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines
• Must be available to work at both SMGH and FCHS
• Understands and practices good body mechanics
