COVID-19 Outbreak Declared Over on Inpatient Unit at Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital | Middlesex Hospital Alliance

(Strathroy, ON) An outbreak of COVID-19 at the Middlesex Hospital Alliance (MHA) – Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital has been declared over by Middlesex-London Health Unit.

The outbreak had been declared on the second floor Inpatient Unit on January 15, 2021. The outbreak involved one patient and four staff.  As there have been no further cases, the Inpatient Unit has been reopened to admissions.

Upon declaring the outbreak, immediate precautions were implemented, including enhanced cleaning and prevalence testing in 100 staff and physicians.

The Hospital will continue with all its pandemic protocols including restrictive visitor policy, enhanced cleaning and active screening of all patients and approved visitors.
