FULL TIME NURSE MANAGER – Emergency/Ambulatory Care

• 7.5 hour shifts and after hour availability
• Responsible for daily operation of ED, Ambulatory Care, Medical Day unit and Endoscopy suite
• Reporting to the Director of Patient Care

Job Qualifications:
• Current certificate of registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
• Baccalaureate degree required; Master’s degree preferred
• Minimum 5 – 7 years of related clinical experience
• Minimum 3 years of leadership experience within healthcare sector
• Demonstrated knowledge of Emergency, Ambulatory Care and Endoscopy Standards
• Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with nursing staff, physicians, patients and members of the health care team
• Experience managing in a unionized environment
• Demonstrated excellence in critical thinking, problem solving, communication, change management and conflict resolution
• Sound knowledge of LEAN strategies and metrics measurement
• Demonstrated strong leadership skills
• Computer proficiency
• Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development and continuing education
• Demonstrated initiative to participate in organizational programs
• Excellent attendance record

• Coordination of patient care delivery
• Ability to mentor, coach and act as resource for staff
• Complete the performance appraisal process and provide regular feedback to new orientees and staff
• Accountable for human, fiscal and material resources for areas of responsibility
• Provides leadership and support for the development and implementation of wait time strategy initiatives, surgical efficiencies and MHA strategic priorities
• Implements and manages quality improvement, lean strategies and patient safety initiatives to ensure excellence in patient care and high levels of patient satisfaction
• Ensures that clinical practices are consistent with current standards and regulations and are evidence based
• Model and promote the development of a motivated and cohesive multi-disciplinary team
• Supports educational strategies to enhance professional practice of team members
