Full-time SONOGRAPHER with added responsibilities
Diagnostic Imaging Department

Job Duties
• Position Available September 9, 2014
• 7.5 hours shifts weekdays and weekends
• 30-37.5 hours per week to be negotiated with successful candidate

Job Qualifications
• Enthusiastic and committed ultrasound technologist who must be a graduate from a Canadian Ultrasound program or equivalent
• Canadian Association of Registered Diagnostic Ultrasound Professionals (CARDUP) certified. American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) certification and CSDMS membership an asset.
• Work scheduled shifts as a sonographer, while coordinating functions to optimize efficiency and deliver exceptional quality of care in a progressive 3-room department within a newly developed Breast assessment Centre
• Oversee training of new staff and act as resource with subject matter expertise
• Minimum 5 years experience in a hospital setting, with supervisory experience an asset
• Comprehensive knowledge of theory and practice for diagnostic medical sonography procedures including breast, abdominal, obstetrical/gynecological, pelvic, peripheral vascular, small parts and MSK
• Breast experience mandatory with Vascular, IPS, Breast certifications an asset
• Demonstrated leadership and mentoring abilities preferred
• Broad knowledge and practice of safe work procedures with diagnostic sonographic and medical imaging equipment in compliance with departmental standards
• Knowledge of GE PACS and Cerner RIS an asset
• Strong team player with ability to perform duties independently and professionally
• Excellent interpersonal communication and critical thinking skills
• Demonstrated superior organizational skills to prioritize tasks in collaboration with others
• Evidence of ongoing professional development and self-directed learning
• Demonstrated ability to communicate(orally and in writing) and deal effectively with clients and their families, co-workers, physicians and other members of the health care team
• Understanding and demonstration of good body mechanics with ability to perform the physical requirements of the job
